Lovelys!!!! Terribly sorry for leaving you hanging on that last post! April has finally gotten here and part of me keeps thinking holy c#@p APRIL? Where did the time go?
In less than 20 days I will be attending my first ever bridal show as.... get ready....... are you ready yet????
AS A VENDOR.
Can you believe it? Neither can I really. I am very pleased and excited to have my own little spot at this years Barrie Bridal Show hosted by Area Productions. I think I have changed my display and layout a gazillion times and have been non stop making things for the event.
I kinda feel part of the excitement comes from getting to speak to various brides and fully immerse myself into the excitement of planning again. (Or at least bits and pieces of it)
Tear* its going to be a year since my wedding. Happy tear* its going to be our one year wedding anniversary, so maybe I can plan a party? Do people do that? I'm giggling to myself as we speak.
Ok so back to the show! Sunday April 26th is the big day and it is fast approaching. Will try to keep you all posted on whats happening with the prep process but I don't want to give away too much till the day of.
In the meantime, I have a pretty paper flower display that is in the works and how cute are felt flowers as a non-floral bouquet option? See below!
Paper flowers are SOOOO huge right now especially in large scale applications for wall decor etc. There are various ways to create them and I have not found a way to speed the time up. You either have to hand cut them or use a machine like Cricut or Silhouette to pre-cut petal shapes. Since I do not have a plotter I have been cutting them out by hand, which is very time consuming but relaxing (you can do this while watching TV etc) This is also why they can be pricey (Etsy & various shops) because so much time and effort go into each petal and flower. Crafting with paper is an art form in itself!! Stay tuned to see what I will use my paper flowers for at the upcoming show!!
Moving on to felt flowers which I find are very fun and relaxing to create. I think the material itself holds a certain connotation to that of a child's craft material or something you would see your own kids use in a cut and paste activity. But if you take a peak around the internet, craft magazines and online blogs, you will see the many beautiful objects created with basic wool felt. Below are some flowers I created following some how-to's and my own research in and around the web.
Talk to you soon lovelys! April 26th is coming very FAST!!
